The Meaning of Success
Identifying early what success means to you means answering this question: What is your Why? This indicates your purpose in life, and it guides nearly all of your decisions and actions. Without a clear understanding of your Why, it is difficult to stay focused and motivated to achieve your goals. Take the time to reflect on your values, passions, and strengths to determine what success means to you.
Depending on one’s gender, culture, economic or racial background, every has unique perspectives on their Why. Without a clear eye on Why, it makes it difficult to figure out what’s important to you and to determine your values. It is also difficult to articulate to other people who may be trying to help you or are affected by your decisions when you don’t take the time to figure out what’s important to you early on.
Figuring out your Why is a major building block, and you cannot move to the next block until you complete it. It doesn’t matter how many tasks you accomplish. If they are not aligned with what you’re passionate about, it will not matter what tasks those are, certainly not in the long run. Nobody else can do this for you because this is a personal thing that you must determine for yourself! Think it thoroughly.
